Upon completion of my undergraduate study at Yonsei University, Seoul Korea (Ba. of Arts), I came to America for my theological studies. In October 1990, I began Master of Divinity study at McCormick Theological Seminary where I was challenged to pursue doctoral studies in New Testament. Currently, I am working on writing dissertation on the Gospel of John for the fulfillemt of Ph.D. degree requirement at Vanderbilt University. I married to my wife Kyung Hee Lee, and we have two children, Joshua (6) and Sophia (4). In 1996, I was ordained as a probationary deacon from the Tennessee Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. For three years in English and Korean I served the inter-racial married couples and their children at the Huntsville Korean United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. In June, 1999 I was appointed by the Bishop Joe Pennel Jr. to the Korean United Methodist Church of Greater Washington to serve as an associate pastor. The main ministry areas that I am concentrating on are small group ministry, new members' ministry, Barnaba ministry, intercessory prayer ministry, and visitation and counseling ministry for the church families. 저는 1983년에 연세대학교 신과대학에서 공부하고(Ba. of Arts), 1990년에 미국에 유학와 멕코믹 신학대학에서 공부했습니다(M.Div.). 멕코믹 신학대학원에서 공부하며 신약신학을 공부하도록 도전 받고 네쉬빌 테네시에 소재한 벤더빌트 대학에서 신약학(Ph.D)을 공부하여 요한복음을 중심으로 논문을 준비 중에 있습니다. 가족으로는 유경희 사모, 아들 담대(여섯 살)와 딸 슬기(네 살)가 있습니다. 저는 1996년에 테네시 연회에서 준회원 안수를 받았고 헌츠빌 알라바마에서 3년 간 이중문화 가정과 그 가족들을 대상으로 목회하였습니다. 1999년에 테네시 연회에서 정회원 목사 안수를 받고 그 해 6월에 버지니아 연회 조 페널 감독의 파송을 받아 와싱톤한인교회에서 부목사로 사역하고 있습니다. 제가 주로 사역하는 분야는, 속회 사역, 새교우 관리, 바나바 사역, 중보기도, 심방 및 상담 분야입니다. |
