Shalom! My name is Reverend Benjamin Cha and I joined Korean United Methodist Church of Greater Washington (KUMCGW) in 2005 as a youth pastor. Talk about history repeating itself, because it was at this very place - Northern Virginia - that God called me into ministry. Even though I was born and raised in a Christian home, it wasn't until freshmen in college that I wanted to live for Jesus. I received my Bachelor of Arts from California State University Long Beach, MBA from UCLA, and completed the Master of Divinity degree - specializing in youth ministry - from Talbot Theological Seminary in sunny southern California. I served as youth pastor at Mission Community Church in Fullerton California from 1989 to 1993 and also served as the Youth/Associate Pastor to the English Ministry at Onnuri Community Church in Korea. I have a lovely wife (Ruth), a comical son (Joshua), and a precocious daughter (Rebekah). I love all kinds of sports (my favorite team is the LA Lakers) and one of my greatest accomplishments in life, is crossing the finishing line during the 93' Los Angeles marathon.
